WasteVol

WasteVol was an idea that started from the word “wasteful”. Founder and CEO Ian Fitzgerald sat on an apartment balcony one afternoon in a nearby campus neighborhood he observed what he perceived to be homeless men picking up spare cans left from partiers from the night before. Instantly, WasteVol was born from the idea of how wasteful the campus community was being with their waste! Not only was it creating a harmful eye sore for the environment, but it was creating a lucrative business for the homeless community. In this instant, Ian got up, grabbed a trash bag, and began walking his dog with the objective in mind to pick up cans along the way. Thirty minutes later he had nearly sixty aluminum cans. Imagining what could be done with the help of a few friends WasteVol came to be.
